Winter 2008/2009 ~ We just released the first of our 2007 vintage Pinot Noirs from our Estate vineyard - the 'S' (or La Sorella della Famiglia) along with a delicious Pinot Port. In addition, an update on OUR WASHINGTON BIG RED PROJECT – On the heals of our top scoring 2005 La Bestia Cabernet Sauvignon, the BIG (and I mean BIG!) 2006 vintage rests in it's glass shawl for it's release in 2009!. Once again, we've crafted a beauty from the highly regarded Klipsun Vineyard in Washington's Red Mountain AVA. We were fortunate to begin working with the 1984 Cabernet block as well as the 1990 Merlot block. Both the Wine Spectator and many top WA winemakers have expressed this may be the finest vintage to date for WA. We've just bottled both wines - our second go-around with the Bordeaux blend (il Mulinello) & Cabernet Sauvignon (La Bestia). Total cases ~ 325 and 144, respectively. More planting - Fall 2009! We have planted the last block of our 45 acre vineyard! We now have nearly 30 acres in plants ~ nearly all to Pinot Noir, with a small 1 1/4 acre planting of two excellent clones of Chardonnay! Of this, we'll round out the Pinot Noir at 30 acres (~ 2.5 more) and add two small blocks of white varietals - more Chardonnay, a bit of Riesling an Italian white varietal yet to be determined. The new winery – In light of the economic backdrop, we hopeful to break ground on our new winery this next Spring (as soon as the rains let up) with the goal for some assemblance of 2009 CRUSH at the new caves/facility. We're building a list of volunteers for harvest help as well as for other venues. Please give us a call if you've an interest! Stay tuned for posting of the plans to the website. Wine Clubs - We're thrilled to offer more to our best customers. With the launch, via invitation, of L’VIP and L’CONNOISSEUR wine clubs, not only will our customers receive exclusive bottlings, events and discounts on purchases; but also lottery to stay at our new winery. L’VIP will be limited to 100 members and will have exclusive benefits.
